Today’s world is getting smaller every day. Thanks to the fast-growing technology sector, communications between people from all over the world are becoming easier and more commonplace than ever before. Right now, technology is all about mobile and staying in touch anytime and anywhere. Unfortunately, the mobile market is completely sliced up between a few different companies. Too often, users have to choose who they communicate with because they use Android phones, iPhones, or don’t even own a smartphone.
No more are people simply stuck with the circle of friends they already have. Now, people have a choice in who they communicate with because WhatsApp is a cross-platform app that allows people to send messages, videos, files, and more without regard to smartphone type and platform.
Awesome Features of the New WhatsApp
There are plenty of reasons why choosing WhatsApp as your go-to messaging app makes a lot of sense. While we can’t discuss every reason, here is a list of some of the most popular features and aspect of using WhatsApp to stay in touch:
- – Send messages, photos, and videos to any user
- – Completely cross-platform communications
- – Make calls to other countries
- – No usernames to remember
- – Group chats bring friends closer together
- – Never miss a message when you’re offline
Staying in touch with those that we care about is very important. Leaving this up to just any app is dangerous, especially with people relying more heavily on messaging rather than traditional phone calls. WhatsApp is available to almost anyone, no matter where they are or what technology they have access to.
How You Can Use WhatsApp Messenger

WhatsApp on Mac via BlueStacks 2
Using WhatsApp is even easier on your Mac. Instead of looking at tiny screens and using small on-screen keyboards, you have the ability to see your messages clearly on your large, Mac screen. Replying via your keyboard is so much quicker than using your touch-screen keyboard your friends will be amazed at how quickly you respond.

WhatsApp on Android
For the growing throngs of Android users out there, grabbing the latest version of WhatsApp is just like any other app download. WhatsApp on the Web
It is always possible to use the best messenger app available right from your computer. To do this, you will already need a WhatsApp account through your mobile device. By installing and using the WhatsApp Web app, you are simply adding an extension of your existing account. This doesn’t create a new account, but it just syncs messages and other account info between your mobile and computer world.
Visit the WhatsApp Web app page on your computer. Then open the WhatsApp Web section on your mobile app. Scan the QR code on the web page with your phone. It’s that simple. To unlink your account, head over to the same section on your mobile device to view or change logged computers on your account.
WhatsApp for PC allows you to keep in touch with your friends and family from anywhere. You can install it on your home or work computer and gain instant access to your contacts and your chats. You are able to send and receive instant messages, as well as audio, video and photos. Remember, WhatsApp for Windows mirrors conversations, so you will see everything you send from your computer on your mobile device as well. You can change your photo and status message right from your desktop application. Also, you can start new chats, create groups, and even delete, archive or mute conversations. You can pretty much do on your computer what you are doing right now on WhatsApp on your mobile device.
You must have a WhatsApp account to use the app for PC. Also, at least during the setup phase, your mobile device and your computer must both be connected to the computer (you need to scan a QR code from your phone or tablet). The user interface is rather minimalist, but it is very well organized and has all the functions one would expect. You don’t need any technical prowess to use the program and you should quickly become accustomed with its various controls and options.
You can send pictures directly from your webcam to your friends and family. In addition, you can share a wide variety of documents quickly by selecting them from your computer. This makes WhatsApp for PC a decent choice at work when you need to keep in touch with your colleagues or customers.
In conclusion, this application does what it’s supposed to without any problems. Although the WhatsApp software is lightweight and small when compared to Skype and even Yahoo Messenger, it does a very good job at keeping you connected with the groups, contacts and chats on your phone. The functions are intuitive and everything just works ‘ it was designed by WhatsApp themselves, so it would be expected to work flawlessly.
Normally, the popular messaging app WhatsApp is only used on mobile devices (Android, iOS, Windows Phone and Blackberry), however with the brand-new PC and Mac version of the app, you can finally use it from your desktop! All you need to do is simply install the WhatsApp program so you can chat with your friends straight from your Mac or Windows PC. Although it seems to work well so far, it is far from perfect.
WhatsApp Web is now a native app
Maybe you were already aware of WhatsApp Web – the version you could use from within your internet browser. WhatsApp for Mac is exactly the same, however you don’t need to open a browser in order to use it.
WhatsApp for Mac is also very similar to the mobile version of the app, so if you’re a daily use, it certainly won’t take you long to get the hang of its functions. This version offers everything you would expect to see (just on a larger screen), and offers the ability to chat, send and receive photos, documents and notes, create and manage groups, change your profile picture, etc.
It all sounds rather great, but there are some limitations to the app. For example, it doesn’t allow you to share you location, nor does it allow you to add new contacts.
Yes, although WhatsApp for Mac is an option that makes life a little bit easier now and again, it isn’t something that’s going to replace your mobile device any time soon.
Everything has a “but”
In order to start using the Mac version of the app, you need to first scan the QR code using your mobile device, just as you would with WhatsApp Web. If you have any questions about this procedure, click here for a complete tutorial.
After scanning the code, the WhatsApp account you have registered to your phone will be associated with the new one on your Mac, and you can begin chatting!
The options in the desktop version are beautifully arranged (reminiscent of WhatsApp for Android). The truth is that it doesn’t take much effort from your part to find anything you need and is simply a pleasure to chat at a much faster pace thanks to the keyboard. If you have a webcam and/or microphone, you also have the ability to send photos/videos/audio clips.
Another great thing about using the PC version is that internet connections tend to be faster than those on mobile, therefore data transfers are much quicker and straight forward.
All in all, WhatsApp for Mac works just fine, but it does depend entirely on your phone. You can chat directly from your Mac, however your mobile device needs to be connected at all times. With this limitation in mind, it puts it behind its rivals such as LINE and Telegram, who each have their own independent desktop versions.
Was it worth the wait?
WhatsApp users have been asking for a desktop version for ages, and finally they have it, despite not being 100% what they were expecting. Although the version works extremely well and offers almost all the same features as the mobile version, it doesn’t have one of the most important – the ability to work independently. We can only hope that Facebook, who acquired the app back in 2014 will notice the flaw and we might get a nice surprise in the next update.
